My Podcast - Adolescence
What Every Parent, Teacher and Teen Should Know.
Adolescence: What Every Parent, Teacher and Teen Should Know: Is more than a podcast—it is a bridge between generations, a space for empathy, and a call to listen more deeply.
Each episode combines research with storytelling to explore various aspects of adolescence. As founder and creative director, I created this platform to make science emotionally accessible, and healing actionable. It is rooted in my own journey of losing my mother and my big sister, access to my childhood home, and the first item I ever purchased; my beloved bookcase: through creativity, through community and cancer, and shaped by the belief that vulnerability and gratitude are powerful tools for connection.
The companion guides and workshops extend the conversation. Their purpose is to encourage communication, promote deeper understanding, and respect those who share our journey.
You will find practical insights, reflective prompts, and emotionally intelligent tools to support teens and those who care for them. This podcast is resolute both to the encouraging community who empowered me to keep going, and to all teenagers charting their unique paths.
With Gratitude,
Dr. B.

Client's Review
Designed to both inform and entertain "The Kangaroo And The Cat" does both in every aspect. From cover-to-cover I was intensely engaged, anticipating what would come next in this unfolding story about friendships. Truly Enjoyable Reading...Highly Recommend!!! Cannot wait for S.M. Barrett's next book in this children's book series. --Jan
As a psychologist myself and father (my daughter is long grown now), I found this book to be an excellent way to comfort a child and let him/her know that there are ways to work out situations without stress. Ms Barrett did a great job with this book, from the engaging story to the delightful art. It will be very helpful for children to see how to engage with other children in social situations and develop friendships.
